Girls Swimming: Family Brunch 2015

Great job to everyone that attended the first week of Aragon swim practice! The coaches are excited to see you all improve this season.

Practice this week will follow the usual schedule. The girls will have our first Tuesday morning practice and Saturday practice. Saturday's practice will be followed by Family Brunch 2015!

Girls Saturday practice will begin at 9:00AM and a potluck brunch will be on the pool deck beginning around 10:30. This brunch will be a fun opportunity for teammates and parents to get to know each other. We will also be having a parent meeting where we discuss this season. Can't wait to see everyone, siblings and extended family are welcome!

Great first week of conditioning! The schedule will be the same this week. See "Practice Schedule."

Tomorrow (Monday, January 26) is the showing of "Touch the Wall" at Century 12 in Downtown San Mateo. The event starts at 4:30. Wear your Aragon gear. See you there!

The first mandatory practice will be next Monday, February 2nd. 

Team Suit: Checks made out to "Aragon High School" will be due by February 5th. Thank you to those who have turned in their order forms!

First Team Bonding Event of the Season: "Touch the Wall" on 1/26

Join us at Century 12 San Mateo's presentation of "Touch the Wall." This swim documentary is sure to get us all pumped up for this coming season. Reserve your tickets here.

Movie Description:

Swimming phenom and Olympic Gold Medalist Missy Franklin was destined for greatness at an early age, but it wasn’t until the arrival of Veteran Kara Lynn Joyce that those sky-high expectations began to take shape. As training partners, competitors, and friends, Missy and Kara redefine what it means to win.

As of now, the event will only happen if 40 more people reserve their tickets online ($13). Other local swim teams will be there. See you at the movies! Bring your family too!

2015 Swim Season Opening

Welcome to the 2015 Aragon swim season, the coaches would like to make you aware of the following information and dates:

• Suits: Please view  the potential suits (Suit Design link) and email any suggestions to Coach Roxanne, Rmtursi@gmail.com
• Physicals: Turn in your medical clearance packet if you have not yet done so this school year (Medical Packet link)
• Calendar: Check calendar for schedules (link to PAL Schedule, and Team Google calendar) 

 Upcoming Dates:

• Thursday, Jan. 8: Meeting at lunch in Room 158
• Wednesday, Jan. 14: Team meeting 3:30-4:30 at the pool 
• (All interested swimmers should attend)
• Thursday, Jan. 15:  Suit fitting 1:30-2:15 at the pool
• Tuesday, Jan. 20: Pre-season conditioning 3:30-5:30 in the pool 
• (Change into your swim-suit in the locker room and bring your goggles, swim cap, water bottle, towel, and shoes to wear home.)
• Monday, Feb. 2:  1^st required practice 3:30-5:30 in the pool 
• (See above for what to bring.)

End of Season Celebration

The Dons advance in the PAL tournament and play this Saturday at Burlingame High School at 11:00am. Please come and cheer them on as they play the Burlingame Panthers!

Water Polo families: Please check your e-mail for the End of Season Celebration invitation. If you did not receive the invitation, please email Lauren at laurenpadilla@gmail.com. RSVP with the number of people from your family that are attending. Roxanne will be collecting money at Aragon this coming Monday (11/10).

November Together!

Dons Water Polo fans,

October finished off with wins for both the Giants and the Dons! The Varsity girls celebrated their last home game and Senior Day with a 28-5 win over the Terra Nova Tigers. This week the Dons will play in 3 games at the Peninsula Athletic League Tournament. The action starts on Tuesday at 4:45pm versus Woodside High School (Bay number 4 seed) or Mills (Ocean number 4 seed). If we win, we will move on to attend the Central Coast Section Playoffs beginning next Tuesday, 11/11.
