Aragon Girls win the Sequoia Tournament!

The Varsity and J.V. competed in great games this past weekend in Redwood City. The Dons came away with wins against Irvington(12-0), Sequoia(11-2), and Notre Dame(11-5).

-Senior goalkeeper, Eve McNally(’15), was a force to be reckoned with, holding all 3 teams to just 7 goals including her first shut-out this season and an impressive 21 saves, a career high, in the win over Sequoia.

-The Junior Varsity narrowly lost a game against Sequoia’s J.V. (3-5). The J.V. goalie, Sara Frandsen (’18), had an exciting 9 saves against the Cherokees, also a career high.

-The team was feeling great coming off a win over Mercy Burlingame, on September 25^th, where Tessa Draper(’15) led in scoring for the Dons at an unstoppable 8 goals.

We are looking forward to our home game, Tuesday, September 30^th at 3:00PM against San Mateo High.  All Junior Varsity players are invited to dress and play in the game. Thanks to Olivia Cosca(’15) this game will be filmed by Cal Hi Sports Bay Area and will be featured with highlights on the next episode on KOFY TV (Sunday at 6PM and 10PM on TV 20 and Cable 13- be sure to watch on 10/5! We understand it may be a hardship for some athletes to be absent from class. As the student-athlete, it is your responsibility to contact your teacher(s) ahead of time to find out what your make-up options are. You should also ask to receive notes and handouts from teachers or classmates. All athletic league games are excused absences. What an exciting game this past Tuesday! We were ahead or tied for most of the game until the 4th quarter. It was hard to keep quiet working at the desk. ;)

Home games this week and Sequoia Tournament

Hello Aragon Families! What a great week for water polo! A quick recap: Last Tuesday, both Varsity and JV won their first league games at Mills High School! The following day, Varsity came away with a second league win at Menlo School. Thank you to all the parents and families who cheered them on, gave rides, and brought snacks. The girls have been working hard at practices and we look forward to all the games this week! 

*Note: Water polo TEAM PICTURES are scheduled for next Friday, 10/3 at 3:45pm. The order form is now posted on the team links! Please fill out and bring a check and an envelope for next Friday.

This Week of Water Polo

Thank you to all those who came and cheered for the girls water polo teams as Aragon competed against Hillsdale last Thursday! It proved to be an exciting afternoon, with Varsity winning and JV showing their improvement and a few girls scoring their first goals! Great job! We will begin our league play this week with two days of competition, Tuesday at Mills (JV and Varsity) and Wednesday at Menlo (Varsity and a few JV girls).

Thank you to Mrs. Tobin for reporting the varsity score to the San Mateo Times.

Schedule for 9/15-9/20

Monday - JV/V Practice (3:30-5:30)
Tuesday - No morning practice, Games at Mills (JV @ 3:00 and Varsity @ 4:00)
Wednesday - Varsity game at Menlo @ 3:00, JV practice at Aragon @ 3:30
Thursday - Morning swim (6:00am), no afternoon practice due to boys' games
Friday - No morning dryland, regular practice (3:30-5:30)
Saturday - JV and Varsity practice at Aragon pool (8:30am-10:30am) 

One morning practice is required this week (except for freshmen). Saturday will be mandatory practice for everyone. Next Saturday is our Tournament at Sequoia.

We have wonderful parents who have offered to drive to the games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Let us know if you DON'T need a ride. We will meet in the parking lot by the softball field.
Tuesday: JV pickup at 1:45 and Varsity at 2:45, games at 3:00 and 4:00.

Water Polo Update 9.9.14

What an exciting first scrimmage against NDB! The JV and Varsity teams played well and showed team spirit.

This Wednesday's game against Half Moon Bay has been rescheduled to 9/23. We will play at Hillsdale High School this Thursday (9/11). The Varsity game will be at 4:00 and the JV game will be at 5:00. Players should arrive at least an hour prior to game time. Please arrange your own carpools. Sign ups for future carpools is coming soon.

Our new water polo suits are in! Polos should arrive in about two weeks.

Labor Day Practice

Monday's practice (9/1) will be dryland.
Please wear tennis shoes and meet at the pool by 3:30. See you there!
